Crafted with Purpose. Rooted in Respect.
At MAHA Treasures, sustainability isn’t a checkbox; it’s a way of being. From the fibers we weave to the packaging we wrap, we strive to minimize harm, honor tradition, and support the human hands behind every handmade item from Nepal.
Tree-Free Lokta Paper Goods
Our Lokta paper is handmade from the bark of a renewable Himalayan shrub - no trees are cut in the process. It’s biodegradable, durable, and free from harsh chemicals. Sourced from women’s cooperatives in Nepal, it supports both the environment and local livelihoods.
Natural Fibers & Eco-Friendly Dyes
We use 100% pashmina and natural wool blends for our scarves and accessories. These materials are biodegradable, breathable, and made to last. Many items are dyed with plant-based or mineral dyes, reducing chemical use and water waste.
People-First, Artisan-Made
We partner with Nepalese artisan groups to ensure every product is made ethically and respectfully:
-
Women-led Lokta paper cooperatives
-
Visually impaired incense artisans
-
Traditional family weaving studios
Every purchase supports these communities and helps preserve skills passed down through generations.
Plastic-Free, Conscious Packaging
We ship using recyclable, reusable, and plastic-free materials. Our gift wraps, tags, and boxes are made from handmade Lokta paper, turning every unboxing into a beautiful, sustainable experience.
Smarter Shipping, Lower Impact
To reduce carbon emissions, we ship from the location closest to you:
- Maryland, USA
- Glasgow, UK
- Kathmandu, Nepal
This not only lowers our carbon footprint but also gets your handmade treasure to you faster.
Small Batches, Big Impact
We don’t mass-produce. We create meaningful goods in small runs, honoring the materials, the makers, and the moment.
